Fall 2018 Week 4

U10 Coed
U10 had a great game against Bedford. It was a close game and the teams were evenly matched. Our players showed improvement with playing their positions and working the ball down the field. The final score was 3-5 and goals were scored by Wyatt Cushing, Brady Nelson and Darren Jordan. We had strong support in the back field from goalies Oskar Karlsson with 12 saves, Wyatt Cushing with 6 saves, and Andy Taylor with 4 saves. We saw some strong defensive play today from Caleb Hall and newcomer Andy Taylor.

U11 Boys
U11s has a very solid performance against conval resulting in a 2-2 tie. Goals from Darren Jordan and Brady Nelson. Assist Darren Jordan, Gavin Perkins. Great performance up top from Gavin Perkins and Owen Wolpin. Gavin hit every inch of the goalposts and crossbar multiple times. Easily could of run away with this one. Very solid smart play from midfielders Darren Jordan, Brady Nelson and Travis Tibbets through balls, crosses, early shooting and such unselfish play was fun to watch. Excellent defending by Carl Edwardson, Brody Ennis and center back Zachary North who does such a great job communicating with his fullbacks they very rarely ever have any mishaps. And hats off to Wyatt Cushing for some great goal play. Had a handful of great saves coming out on their forwards and giving up his body to make saves!

U12 Boys
U12 Boys won their game this weekend 3-1 against Salem YSA Strikers.  Goals were scored by Carson Sadler (2) and Jared Beal.  One of Carson's goals was assisted by Clark Blackwelder.  Strong Defensive performances by Colby Blackburn, Taber Haggett, Ben Wolpin and Harper Maloney.

U14 Boys

U14 Boys played International SC for the third time this season and earned a hard fought 0-0 tie.

U15 Girls

U15 Girls gained their first point of the season this week, but they deserved so much more!  Playing Raymond Rams, the LRU girls completely dominated the first half, with all of they play coming in the offensive third.  Ally Kenyon scored an absolute gem of a shot to go 1-0 up.  The second half continued in the same vein, with Katie Carmignani and Lauren MacDonald rocks at the heart of the defense.  Liz Albert and Rylee Rizzitano were also solid in right and left defense, but were not afraid to push on offense too.  This game saw a debut from the team’s new goalkeeper Hannah Gannon who was excellent in goal, and Addison Harris.

U15 Boys

U15 Boys played a top-of-the table match against the only other undefeated team South Central.  The LRU players didn’t get going this weekend and unfortunately lost 2-0.  After easily winning their first 3 games, let’s hope this result is a reality check to make them up their game, as surely they will meet South Central again in the playoffs!
